Twitchen

Again last year I did some work on the property known as Tollgate, Twitchen. The original building was a dormer bungalow with brick walls but was a good sized plot. (see image).

The owner/builder wanted to extend this modest building with a New England style dwelling. I did as asked & the Planning & Building Regulations went through with out a hitch. I'm sure you will agree this has been some transformation.

The property has been on the market go to http://search.struttandparker.com/residential/twitchen-clunbury-craven-arms-shropshire-sy7/10820

Bryn Church

Last year I was approached to try to gain permission to convert the former Church at The Bryn which is between Clun & Bishops Castle. A scheme was put together & the applications made. All went well & it looked like permission would be granted, however a long hold up occurred & this put back the project. But to my surprise last week the formal Planning permission came through & I hope that the building will soon be on the market.

The scheme largely preserves the external appearance of the building. The ground floor is mainly an open plan layout with a new stairs leading too three bedrooms & bathroom. The main bedroom has en-suite facilities & has a balcony effect over the proposed lounge. This preserves the main stained glass windows. The building will also benefit from a new garage to be built on a separate piece of ground which adjoins the Church.

Below are some images of the building & I will post a link to the agents site when it becomes available.

Images of Proposed Eco Home.

To follow on from the last post on the sustainable home these are a couple of images of the proposed building. The first is a rear view of the proposed building & the second from the road or front approach. Both of these views were generated using Revit AutoCad, getting the hang of it now !

New Eco Home, Beguildy.

A new eco house has just been approved by Powys County Council in the village of Beguildy. This house has been designed by Inklines in close co-operation with the client. The drawings for the house can be viewed on the Council web site
planning.powys.gov.uk

The site is long but not wide & slopes down to a small stream. The proposed build will provide a two bedroom home with 'green' features such as sedum roof, PV panels & super insulated timber frame.

The use of render & vertical larch boards will give the build a rural feel but also deliver a modern sustainable dwelling.

Barn Conversions

Over the last couple of years I have done some work on barn conversions & with a change in Planning policy within Shropshire more conversions may now be coming forward.

A barn which has recently been converted was in a poor state of repair. This barn had the benefit of Listed Building Consent & permission was granted.

If you take a look back at my blog in 2008 you can see the pictures of the barn as work was on going, fantastic conversion work has been carried out. If you are still interested click on the following link which will show you much more & may temp you to make an offer http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-36940190.html
